1. You need a coffee machine with a special pod adaptor. We sell authentic Italian “La Piccola” Coffee Machines which are designed to take ESE Coffee pods.
2. You then insert the ESE pod into the head and activate the machine
3. Hot water under pressure is then forced through the pod giving you a premium, consistent cup of coffee.

LUCAPSULE COFFEE CAPSULE
Lucapsules are artisan roasted gourmet coffee capsules in a Nespresso® compatible coffee pod.
The difference is Lucaffe’s Lucapsules are 100% compostable and biodegradable. They are the only compostable coffee capsules packaged in an airtight 100% recyclable tin. The material compostable coffee capsules are made from is slightly permeable to air which would destroy the freshness of the coffee if they were in a cardboard box. Lucapsule’s are stored in a modified atmosphere within a sealed tin to lock in the freshness. This means that from before they are sold, to the delivery at your doorstep, your coffee capsules keep fresh.
All Nespresso® coffee pod compatible coffee machines. Compatible machines are available from most electrical retailers. Some standard machines have Lucapsule adaptors that fit in the basket.

La Piccola machines use exclusively ESE coffee pods. La Piccola machines do not take ground coffee or other “capsule” style coffee pods.
When it comes to capsule coffee machines vs pod espresso machines, their difference is in how your coffee is delivered. A pod machine will use ESE pods to provide filter wrapped coffee that is placed in a special pod adaptor. These are easy to use and make no mess.
Capsule machines such as the Nespresso range, will use capsules such as the Lucapsule to produce quality coffee for your home or office. Similar to the pods, capsules are pre-measured amounts of coffee for single serve use. Both capsule machines and pod machines have similar processes, but they are not interchangeable.
